Chairman of the Board of Directors

Jvo Grundler has been Chairman of the Board of Directors of Villiger Söhne Holding AG since 2025. He has supported the company as an external advisor since 2015 and served as Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors from 2020 onwards.

Today, he contributes his extensive experience in the areas of corporate governance, corporate law and M&A to the company’s strategic development. Professionally, he serves as General Counsel of HIAG Immobilien Holding AG and as a partner at Bratschi AG. Prior to this, he held various senior positions at Ernst & Young AG for many years. He completed his doctorate at the University of St. Gallen (Dr. iur.) and holds the bar admission of the Canton of Zurich. In addition, he contributes his expertise through various mandates as a board member and foundation board member. Thanks to his many years of experience as an advisor and board member of family-owned companies, he has a deep understanding of their sustainable development and the challenges they face across generations.

Corina Villiger
Co-owner & Member of the Board of Directors

Corina Villiger is co-owner and has been a member of the Board of Directors of Villiger Söhne Holding AG since 1996. As the daughter of Heinrich Villiger, she represents the fourth generation of the entrepreneurial family and has maintained a close connection with the company for many years.

Professionally, she has worked as a family physician in her own practice for over thirty-five years and currently focuses primarily on psychotherapeutic support. Her extensive experience working with people forms the foundation of her expertise in the areas of communication, team spirit and the development of young talents. Through her long-standing commitment to the company, she has gained a deep understanding of the entire value chain – from tobacco seed to finished product. She combines the living tradition of the family business with openness to innovation and future developments.

“The production of tobacco products, in particular cigarillos, Swiss cigars and cigars, has been our family expertise since 1888. It is important to me to carry the passion for our company into the fifth generation and to pass on the experience I have gained through my many years of collaboration with Heinrich Villiger, my father, as well as through my role on the Board of Directors of Villiger Söhne Holding AG. My greatest motivation comes from the identification of our employees with our products and our company, as well as from my own passion for tobacco and the art of traditional tobacco craftsmanship.”

Lucien Villiger
Co-owner & Member of the Board of Directors

Lucien Villiger is co-owner and has been a member of the Board of Directors of Villiger Söhne Holding AG since 2018. As the grandson of Heinrich Villiger, he represents the fifth generation of the entrepreneurial family.

His connection to the company dates back to his childhood, when he was regularly able to accompany his grandfather to the factory and on business trips. Professionally, he works as a project-leading architect at Loeliger Strub Architektur. He completed his studies in architecture at ETH Zurich and ETH Lausanne. As a member of the Board of Directors, he brings the perspective of the younger generation and is committed to preserving the tradition and passion of the family business while successfully leading Villiger into the future together with its employees.

Moving the company forward together with them is a tremendous source of motivation. My goal is to continue offering our valued customers the best possible cigars and cigarillos in the future. Damian Wirth
Member of the Board of Directors

Damian Wirth has been a member of the Board of Directors of Villiger Söhne Holding AG since January 2026. From 1994 to 1998, he was already responsible for managing the company’s bicycle division and is today connected to the entrepreneurial family through his wife, Annina Villiger, daughter of Heinrich Villiger.

Damian Wirth studied Business Administration at the University of St. Gallen as well as Digital Transformation at the University of Applied Sciences of Chur. Over many years, he has held various positions as CEO, interim managing director, board member and business consultant for medium-sized, internationally operating family-owned companies across different industries. Since 2015, as Managing Director of Beraterwerkstatt GmbH, he has advised companies in the areas of strategy, transformation and restructuring. He is also actively involved in various board and foundation board mandates.

“What motivates me is accompanying and supporting a traditional family-owned company like Villiger on its transformation journey towards becoming a modern, sustainable and successful organisation. It is particularly important to me to strengthen the company’s independence in the long term and preserve it for the next generation.”

Since 1 June 2026, Christoph Schüpbach has been CEO of Villiger Söhne Holding AG. He brings extensive international industrial experience from various leadership positions and stands for clear strategies, consistent leadership and the development of high-performing organisations.

Previously, he was CEO of the Schleuniger Group for more than eleven years and held senior management positions at Regent Lighting, Bystronic and ABB. A qualified mechanical engineer and MBA graduate of the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, he has broad experience across various industries and different stages of corporate development. Through his leadership, he strengthens the continued development of the Villiger Group, combining operational excellence with a clear focus on the future and long-term continuity.
